Theca Kozmetika | Custom-Made Natural Skincare

New Year's resolutions don't need to have a bad reputation of only remaining written on paper and not being reinforced in real life. As stated in my 2015. Recap, Beauty Favorites & Plans For 2016. post, I intend on testing and incorporating as much natural skincare in my daily routine as I can. I'm really keen on exploring smaller, handmade skincare brands/projects – I think they do have a lot to offer and I've already discovered some gems which not only feature clean, natural ingredients but they also don't cost too much.

Theca Kozmetika is a local, natural skincare brand from Bosnia and Herzegovina. We're talking about finest cold pressed base oils, essential oils, hydrolates (floral water) with the addition of Vitamin E and aloe vera. But what makes Theca Kozmetika truly special is that you can purchase already prepared creams and cleansers and you can also get custom-made skincare. They have a questionnaire which you fill out and it reveals your lifestyle and skincare needs which helps determine products that would suit you best.

Popunite njihov upitnik koji ce tvorcima proizvoda otkriti vase navike ali i potrebe koze a samim time i usmjeriti ih da vam pripreme ono sto ce najbolje odgovarati samo vama.

My absolute fave out of all three products is the Theca Chamomile Face Tonic Makeup Remover (100ml | approx $3). It's made out of Roman chamomile floral water, German chamomile floral water, organic sunflower oil and eco preservative. This is a bi-phase makeup remover which you shake well prior use so that water and oil mix together. Since it's based on chamomile, it's suited for all skin types including the sensitive type. Due to natural ingredients, it should be used within 6 months. I find that one 100ml bottle lasts me one month with constant everyday use.

Bottle is simple and convenient, pump is functional and deposits enough product on a cotton pad. It has a very mild, faint natural scent. I spritz 3-4 pumps on a cotton pad to remove my eye makeup and it does so very well. It removes everything without thugging the skin – even mascara. I generally practice double cleansing at night and for a light face of makeup I remove the bulk of it with my Bioderma micellar water, then I wash my face with Alverde Clear face washing cream. However, when I wear waterproof mascara or stronger makeup I rely on this Theca bi-phase tonic/remover. I love how it feels on my skin that I've completely switched on it and my Bioderma is waiting for spring to be cracked out again.

What I really love about it is that it feels incredibly light yet hydrating on my skin. It's perfect for dehydrated and dry skin types as it provides comfort as well as efficient makeup removing properties. My combination dehydrated skin looks more radiant and healthy since I've introduced more natural and hydrating skincare pieces – something I attribute to this makeup remover as well. I find it to be a fab dupe of the L'Occitane Shea Butter Cleansing Oil (reviewed here), which is also based on sunflower oil and has the same effect. Just compare the prices: L'Occitane oil costs $22 and Theca costs $3 – I'm definitely favoring Theca.

Pruza osjecaj ugode uz efektno skidanje sminke, sto mislim da ce posebno odgovarati dehidriranoj i suhoj kozi. Moja koza je dehidrirani mjesoviti tip i otkako sam u rutinu ubacila prirodnije i hidratantnije proizvode, dosta je sjajnija i ljepsa. Umnogome taj efekat pripisujem i ovom cistacu.

Theca Night Oil (30ml | approx $8) is a blend of avocado oil, argan oil, rosehip oil, apricote kernel oil, essential oils of immortelle, carrot seed and vanilla. I love that this oil blend comes in a dark glass bottle and even though it is relatively rich, the pump works perfectly. It doesn't have a scent I could pinpoint. It's pretty prominent and it might be unpleasant to some since I've noticed my husband frown when I apply it. It's of a amber coloring. I'd say it's of medium viscosity/thickness. It doesn't slide off my hand instantly (not too watery). It feels really nice massaged into skin.

It's used on damp skin (after you've cleansed it) but I find that it does work well applied on dry skin as well. I love that you can apply it all over your face, including eye area. My under eye area is prone to milia and this oil hasn't produced it nor has it made my break out, which is fab. If your skin is extra dry, you can apply a night cream over it and you can also use it during day if you're not wearing makeup – which is what I do during these past days with pretty low temps (-10°C to -15°C in morning in Sarajevo). I wouldn't use it under makeup though since it would dissolve it partially. It's a very versatile oil and I'm pretty blown away with it but I feel oily skin wouldn't get on with it as much as dehydrated/dry skin would. I'd personally change the scent to make it more pleasant and less strong.

Theca Lip Balm (approx $2) is made out of beeswax, shea butter, olive oil and coconut butter. It's of a white consistency and a faint lightly sweet scent. It can noticeably harden on low temps making it hard to spread over lips but in room temps it's really nice and pleasant on the lips. It's not oily nor too waxy and provides normal, medium care to lips. It's not the most nurturing lip balm and my chronically chapped lips need something stronger and more emollient but for everyday use it would suffice and I like that it's non-sticky.

Overall, I'm really impressed with Theca Kozmetika – I'll be stocking on their face tonic/makeup remover since it's become a staple and I'm also very interested in their calendula cream since my shins are extremely dry during winter. You can find Theca at their Facebook page here.

  • Theca Nocno Ulje (30ml | 15KM) je uljna mjesavina avokada, argananovog ulja, ulja sipka, ulje kospica kajsije, etericnog ulja smilja, sjemenki mrkve i vanilije.
Theca Prirodnu Kozmetiku mozete pronaci i naruciti preko Facebook stranice (ovdje).
