Jewelry I've Been Loving Lately

When I was a child, I remember all the grandmas wearing statement pieces, whether it was a bold ring, necklace or earrings. Then the generation of our mothers toned things down a bit and I mostly remember mum wearing a moonstone ring sometimes, or perhaps some elegant and subtle earrings. Me? I never was much of a jewelry person. I'm not sure if it's just me or things have indeed changed for my generation. Rather than reflecting wealth or status, I prefer my jewelry to reflect my own personality. I always must make a connection to a piece of jewelry to truly want to wear it. Of course, whenever I browse Pinterest I always conclude that I need stacks and stacks of rings and flash tattoos (especially in summer!) but, in general – what I actually wear is understated and subtle. I love semiprecious pieces, pops of color, details that have a meaning and silver whilst gold usually isn't my cup of tea. Apart from my wedding ring and my Fossil watch, I rarely have an urge to wear something new. But that is starting to change, and has been changing for a while – ever since I've discovered handmade Bee's Bracelets jewelry. I wrote about it numerous times – pendants and earrings (here), chakra stones and bracelets (here), Essie nail polish and Bee's bracelet awesome combo (here) and even a ‘Hello Gorgeous’ mug (here)! Creative soul behind these amazing pieces leaves a wonderful trace on whatever she touches and she has reignited my interest in studying semiprecious stones, their origin, meaning and even chakras. I will have to write a special post just about that once but this time, I am letting photos do all the talking. Here we have dark blue Swarovski and silver earrings, green amethyst & labradorite earrings (which pair perfectly with my labradorite bracelet!), onyx and labradorite chakra stones, emerald bracelet with red and green tassels (how cute!) and a firendship pearl bracelet with heart-shaped detail. This bracelet is my most worn and very special to me – M., the busy bee behind Bee's Bracelets jewelry, is wearing one as well and what I really appreciate abot all these pieces is that they are made to match me, my style and sensibility. M. has a great eye for detail and she gets what makes a wearer uniqe – matching you to her jewelry seems like a piece of cake! What I rate highly is the quality – after months and months of wear, they all look brand new! If you're interested in her jewelry, I highly recommend that you contact her via her Bee's Bracelets Facebook page (here). She is incredibly kind, warm and helpful person and I'm sure she'd be happy to hear that you found out about her thanks to my ramblings. How do you feel about jewelry and how would you chart your own history with it?
