Labradorite & Tiger's Eye: Beautiful and Enchanting

When I was a child, I got briefly in contact with certain gemstones – I got a moonstone, turquoise, onyx and lapis lazuli rings as a gift (I still own them all) and was intrigued by various meanings and interesting stories related to those stones. My confidante and I believe the only person whose handmade jewelry relates to my personal taste is Maja from the Bee's Bracelets Facebook page. I love every piece of jewelry she makes and I have two new pieces to show you that truly captured my heart and my imagination. Bee's Bracelet made out of Labradorite is a stunner and ever since I started wearing it, I just cannot seem to put it down. Labradorite was first discovered in Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770 who named it for the area. Lore of the Inuit peoples claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis – what a lovely thought. The stone, usually gray-green, dark gray, black or grayish-white, is composed in aggregate layers that refract light as iridescent flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, or coppery red. It is a symbol of intuition, meditation and aura which protects us as a shield from any negativity from our environment or from negative people. It's also a little something that regulates hormones during ‘that time of the month’. I'll report back in a few days to verify if my hubby agrees (lol).

The singular gemstone you see is the Tiger's Eye stone. Tigers Eye Stone is a quartz crystal with lovely bands of yellow-golden color through it. This is a powerful stone that aids harmony and balance, and helps you to release fear and anxiety. The largest numbers of Tiger Eye Stones are found in South Africa. Its color is yellow brown to golden brown and it is very attractive with lovely bands of color through it. In feng shui, tigers eye is used for its protection and clearing properties. Because tigers eye has strong protective qualities, one excellent placement of this stone is near the front door or a big window. A couple of smooth tigers eye tumbled stones in your pocket or purse might be a more practical idea if you do not like to wear jewelry. That's exactly what I do – keep it in my purse. Whether you believe or not in all these properties, no one can deny that these gemstones are aesthetically very attractive. You'd be surprised how many compliments I've received on my bracelets, earrings and necklace pendants made out of gemstones. I think they give a nice, personal touch to any outfit and if they do anything that it is believed they do – that's just icing on the cake.
