This is my favourite and signature scent for more than 8 years and I still love it fiercely! Calvin Klein launched Euphoria for women in 2005. and it is still going strong. This fragrance is luminous and luscious like fruits notes which are captured in it. Euphoria is mysterious and appealing like dark exotic flowers it hold within. It was created by Dominique Ropion, Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong.
Ovo je moj omiljeni parfem koji je ujedno postao i moj zastitni znak vec vise od osam godina i jos uvijek ga jako volim. Calvin Klein je predstavio parfem Euphoriu za zene 2005. godine koji je i danas aktuelan. Parfemska kompozicija je osvijetljena i socna bas poput vocnih nota koje su u njoj utjelovljene. Misteriozna je i privlacna poput tamnog egzoticnog cvijeca koje u sebi krije. Kreirali su je Dominique Ropion, Carlos Benaim i Loc Dong.
After reading all the notes and conducting a small investigation I have concluded that the Magnolia Champaca or Michelia Champaca is what makes Euphoria so unique. It is a bush-like plant or in a form of a small tree which grows up to 15-20cm in height. It s a tropical tree which originates from India and Indonesia (SE Asia). Petals are plush and succulent ranging from cream to yellow and orange tones and it blossomes in spring. This particular flower is not especially pretty or big as the classic Magnolia but what does make it special is the potent scent it releases. It is also known as the “Joy perfume tree”. In Asia they keep in planted around temples because it is considered sacred. The fragrance this plant produces was used to make the legendary “Joy” perfume by Jean Patou, from the 1929. and that masterpiece is considered to be one of the most expensive perfumes ever made. One more interesting fact, Magnolia Champaca or Michelia Champaca is also found in J'adore Dior as well. Champaca oil, which is derived from the flower, is an aphrodisiac and it makes people feel euphoric. And that's where the olfactory notes and the name of this perfume relate. Also, liquid amber is also said to arouse euphoric feelings and is considered to be a well known recipe for that purpose. What surprised me to see in the top notes is the Japanese Persimmon ( kaki [柿] ). Although its first published botanical description was not until 1780. the kaki is also among the oldest plants in cultivation, known for its use in China for more than 2000 years. It has a delicious soft jelly-like consistency, and is best eaten with a spoon. It is also known as the “Korean mango” and is used in turkish cuisine. In the end, there are some patchouli and musk present in the olfactory composition which blend all aromas together. All notes intertwined make the specific perfume Euphoria is.
Nakon sto sam pregledala note pa se malo raspitala o svakom pojedinacnom sastojku, dosla sam do zakljucka da Magnolia Champaca tj. Michelia Champaca daje taj osnovni pecat Euphoriji. To je cvijet srodan Magnoliji, grmolikog je oblika ili drveca malih dimenzija (15-20cm). U pitanju je tropsko drvo porijeklom iz Indije i Indonezije (JI Azija). Socnih je latica od krem boje do zutih i narandzastih tonova i cvjeta u proljece. Nije lijep ni velik cvijet poput klasicne magnolije ali ovo cvijece ispusta mnogo intenzivniji miris. Poznato je kao “Joy perfume tree”.U Aziji ga sade oko hramova jer ga smatraju svetim. Mirisne note ovog cvijeca su koristene u stvaranju legendarnog parfema “Joy” by Jean Patou iz 1929. koji se smatra jednim od najskupljih parfema ikada proizvedenih. Cisto informativno; ovaj cvijet je u sastavu i J'adore Diora. Champaca ulje (koje se dobija iz ovog cvijeta) je afrodizijak i izaziva euforiju. E to je nacin na koji mozemo povezati naziv parfema sa sastojcima. Zatim za tecni amber se spominje da izaziva euforiju, sto se smatra vec dobro isprobanim receptom. Crna orhideja koja je takodjer u sastavu Euphoria parfema je veoma rijetka kao i crna ljubicica. Ono sto me iznenadilo jeste da u sastavu ima i japansku jabuku ( kaki [柿] ). Iako je kaki tek botanicki opisana 1780. godine, ona spada u najstarije kultivisane biljke a u Kini se koristi vec vise od 2000 godina. Mekane je teksture, poput zelea, i najbolje je jesti kasikom. Takodjer je poznata kao i korejski mango a koristi se i u turskoj kuhinji. Ocigledno je da je ovdje pored navedenog umijesano i mosusa sa paculijem, cisto da poveze ovaj specificni izbor koji cini Euphoriju.
Hmmm…this looks interesting. I love the packaging and I am curious on its scent. I used to collect perfumes. Well let us see if this will be included in my collection. Got to test samples of it first…
