My Meal Prep for Work

Since I've decided to change my lifestyle from classic sedentary and absolutely carb-licious to regularly working out and eating better than before, one of the most frequent questions I get is how to meal prep for work. Of course that it isn't easy and sometimes I forget to meal prep the night before but for most days, a simple pop to the local supermarket will do the trick. You'll see that balanced diet doesn't have to be dull or expensive. I used my Mastercard card precisely at a Bingo supermarket because throughout this month, every transaction you make with a Mastercard card, gives you a chance to go to the Sarajevo Film Festival red carpet as a VIP guest, which is, you’ll admit, a priceless experience!

Usually my meals for work will include a chicken fillet with basmati rice but this time I wanted to spice things up a bit. Chicken tortilla was on my mind so I purchased some onions, zucchinis, surimi, corn and beans. I've chopped chicken breasts and some mozzarella cheese into squares and chucked everything in a pan, adding only salt, pepper and some basil. Then I've heated two tortillas and filled them up with this mixture plus a spoon of Greek yogurt.

I'm generally trying to control my sugar intake but I wanted to treat my coworkers so I picked up a mini Milka pralines while the Monte pudding was, indeed, for me (balance is everything!). And all of the ingredients and groceries were paid by contactless technology - so quick! Standing in line was cut down to a minimum and for once, I wasn't running late. My husband then took me to work and I was ready to tackle my night shift like a pro.

  • Otkako sam promijenila način života u posljednje dvije godine (u smislu da sam fizički aktivna, hranim se mnogo bolje i kvalitetnije nego ranije), jedno od najčešćih pitanja je uvijek bilo kako doskočiti balansiranoj prehrani na poslu. Naravno da nije lako, nekada se ne uspijem ni ja pripremiti noć ranije ali većinu vremena stvari će riješiti redovni odlazak u market - balansirana prehrana nije nužno skupa ni dosadna. Mastercard karticu sam ovog puta uposlila baš u Bingo marketu jer do kraja mjeseca svaka transakcija koja se obavi Mastercard karticom tamo vam donosi šansu da prisustvujete Sarajevo Film Festivalu kao VIP gost na crvenom tepihu, što je priznaćete, neprocenjivo iskustvo!  
  • Obično kao obrok za posao spremim pileći filet sa basmati rižom ali ovog puta sam željela da piletinu serviram na malo zanimljiviji način pa sam se odlučila za tortilju sa pilećim zalogajima. Izvagala sam koji crveni luk i tikvicu a kupila sam i konzervirani kukuruz, grah i surimi štapiće. Dodala sam im i pileće filete koje sam isjeckala na kocke, kao i malo mozzarella sira. Sve sam propržila u tavi i začinila solju, biberom i bosiljkom. Potom sam ugrijala tortilje, napunila ih ovom mješavinom i dodala po kašiku grčkog jogurta.
  • Pokušavam smanjiti unos šećera ali imala sam povod da kolege počastim pa sam kupila i malo pakovanje Milka pralina, kao i Monte. I sve je plaćeno beskontaktnim plaćanjem - gospođa na kasi je bila upućena u proceduru, što je odlično. S obzirom da je riječ o novom vidu plaćanja, nisam morala čak ni objašnjavati šta želim - račun od dvadesetak maraka je plaćen za čas posla i nisam se morala boriti sa gužvom na kasi. Uštedila sam na vremenu pa sam bez žurbe pripremala obrok i nisam kasnila. Potom me dragi povezao do aerodroma i spremna sam mogla da se uhvatim u koštac sa noćnom smjenom.
