China Glaze Dune Our Thing

7/03/2015

I'm not much of a pink nail polish wearer but certain shades do appeal to me greatly. For instance, this stunning beaut which I've decorated by adding a touch of my favorite nail art foil. I've mentioned it few times - Essence Nail Art Hello Foils! are a great and cheap way to add a little somethin' somethin' to any nail polish and for this manicure I've opted for the Hello Flashy! metallic design. I've applied it in a rough triangle shape along the right part of each nail. With or without the dedicated solution, the nail art foil clings to the base where you press it gently with your fingers and quickly remove. Voila! My base is a gorgeous bright berry/fuchsia/magenta creme called China Glaze Dune Our Thing (14ml | $7.50). Even though it's a part of the China Glaze Off Shore Summer 2014. collection filled with neons, this does not actually qualify for a regular but perhaps a muted neon (if you believe in such a color classification). The texture is amazingly creamy and saturated, one coat is enough for a more than decent application although I always take precautions and apply two. Longevity is average with approx three day wear without a base or top coat. What makes this particular shade interesting is that it definitely fits the summer theme - can't you just imagine it paired with a flowy floral dress? Or a striped tee with ripped jeans, maybe on your toes with some cute sandals? It really looks feminine but not too girly. But it also can be worn all year round, really. Paired with soft cashmere sweaters, even leather jackets or ladylike coats - it's one of those shades I think almost every woman can wear as it has the ability to adapt. This is quickly becoming one of my fave China Glaze polishes and if you haven't, do give it a try - I think you'll love it!

I voila!
