Lush Mask Of Magnaminty Review, Photos

2/13/2013

Before Lush, my experience with face masks was, well...a bit disappointing, I won't lie. Many of them had a pretty much nonexistent impact on my skin. I was constantly being convinced that the change will be instantly visible or that I'll whitness a skin transformation over time. Neither happened. My all-time most hated face masks were those which made my face oily and pimply althought I was trying to avoid just that. Face masks which leave that tightening feeling and dry, flaky skin are hated by everyone and anyone. Since neither of masks which I tried helped with my skin issues, I'd like to go over these skin issues of mine. I have a weird case of mixed/combo type of skin. Why weird? It changes it's mind overnight or worse, during day, leaving me feeling and looking confused. It will flake over the forehead, around the nose and on the chin one day. Next day I'll find some flared up blackheads and itchy cheeks. On some (very rare but still existing) days it is completely normal, without a blemish or redness in sight. Some days are a nightmare with red and tight skin all over. Some mornings are ruined with oily skin to the touch which stays that way whatever I try. Try to find a mask that will help with all the above? Almost impossible. Almost.

Zasto cudljiv? Skoro.

Mask Of Magnaminty is basically a type of face mask which resembles a mud masks. It has clay (kaolin) inside and a number of wonderful and interesting ingredients which really do their job in terms of thorough face cleaning. The peppermint and honey are the two most prominent scents in this face mask and they result in a minty yet quite sweet and soothing scent. Aduki beans ground in these tiny bits are great for a pleasant and relaxing face massage along with some scrubbing action. I have gotten a pot of a quite thick consistency which I really like because I like a face mask to fully cover my face in a thick layer. It somehow forms a unified sheet. It is of a greenish/grey/brownish color at the top and it becomes greener and greener the deeper as you scoop it up. I usually aplly it to a freshly washed face or if I have the time, I steam it up with one of Lush toner tabs.

After It is nice and clean and I patted it dry, I apply one thick layer all over, while avoiding the eye area and I wait. Oh, I also like to use it on my back or on my chest if I want to deeply flush all the impurities out. When it begins to dry, I can feel the cooling sensation of the peppermint which is extremely enjoyable. At least it is for me. If you are sensitive to peppermint, you might skip this mask altogether since it's strongly minty. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and even the dryest areas aren't unpleasantly tingly. I have noticed that while it gets dry, some whitish spots appear and that I took as a cue to rinse it all off. I always use warm water although it will be removed even with cold water but you'll be deprived of the comforting experience. While you rinse it off, you'll see the water turn green and followed with Aduki benas. A bit messy perhaps but totally worth it. Afterwards my skin is thoroughly clean, radiant, healthy and balanced. No tightening or flaking. Just smooth and supple skin. Blackheads are very much reduced (even those found on and around the nose), pimples are shrinked to the minimum, redness is nonexistent and I feel like it has some kind of antibacterial properties since pimples don't come back for a long, long time. I use it twice a week and I am absolutely satisfied with it. It's my go-to mask during "one of those days" and I also reach out to it when I want my skin to look and feel especially great.
